I think we will see sub 500 PC's, but I don't think they are going to be huge sellers. Not enough horsepower and versatility. For the last 20 years applications have grown to eat up every bit of additional horsepower chip makers could make available. I think this will continue well into the new millenium. Features that I think will be big sellers over the next five years will be voice activated computers, connected to high speed data networks with full sized streaming interactive video and audio. This is what advertisers want and this is what people will demand for entertainment and utility purposes. And you need serious horsepower to accomplish this. Merced and beyond will be at the heart of these systems. JB
