Thanks Scott, which is why I say these bureaucratic impediments to people staying alive should be removed. They are protecting few people, they are keeping themselves in cushy numbers. They could stay in business by acting as a paid standards body. By that I mean if IDEC wants their Seal of Good Housekeeping, then they could pay them to examine a product. Competing "Seals of Good Medical Practise" could tout for business too. They could advertize their success rates with mortality graphs and see who is fastest and best with the best outcomes.

The present system is a nightmare for people dying who could be helped. Too many barriers to progess. Too much ticket clipping.

IDEC has an excellent product which is not available to most people in the world who need it. What kind of system is that?

The argument against this is that sucker patients would be cleaned out by fake or incorrect treatment. Take a look around the commercial world. In free markets, airlines know they better not crash or they won't get customers. Look what happened to DC10s. A few crashes and game over. Sure, it won't be paradise, but it isn't paradise now - far from it.

Half a year delay because the bureaucrats are slow is not much help to somebody dying.
