Over the next few weeks we will be issuing a series of reviews related to telecommunications and the internet industry because of the significant potential for growth. Quarterdeck has popped up as a participant (supplier) at one of the companies we visited. We have made a recommendation to QDEK to take more of a "systems" approach to one of their products and this may be applicable to other areas of their business.

Our most recent telecommunications postings can be viewed at home1.gte.net under road trips. We chose two companies, Franklin Telecommunications (FTEL) and Video Stream International (VSTM) because their technology has progressed to the point that marketing will determine their success. They are also representative of a new breed of 21st century business. When we visited them, we could feel the excitement and enthusiasm.

Regarding the internet, we follow Rocky Mountain Internet (RMII) and a small Canadian company, UNIServe Online whose parent is Technovision Systems (Vancouver:TVS). We believe these two companies are in different stages of their growth cycles with associated growing pains but they represent the opportunities for internet expansion in cities and towns across the US and Canada. We recommend that you look in your own local area and see who is developing internet related services. It can be fun to invest in a local company where you can meet the employees and tour the business. If you want to post info on any winners you find, contact us and we will check them out.
