Relax. They have to attack Manhattan building by building. They just started to sign people in my building this past week for service starting June 30th. They need permission from your building to put in Fiber optic to deliver cable and high speed cable modem. Once they have permission, they will market for one week in your lobby. Early results in our building look like at least 30 to 40% (I spoke with the rep by phone) are switching either to cable or cable and telephone (many want the high speed cable modem as well). Save money, more channels, better quality cable, cheaper long distance, cheaper local (using same lines as Bell Atlantic), internet access through the only provider of high speed cable modem service in the area and have it all on one bill. All this and I get to call Bell Atlantic, Time Warner and AOL and tell them to stick it for their poor service and sometimes quality. What is there to think about? I signed up to switch everything. As they get new buildings every week, 40 to 50% conversion is likely. Word of mouth will also create the "I want my MTV (RCN)" movement as people like you send letters to your board or building management that you want RCN.
