Just want to add an observation about BeOS. It has/will changed
the nature of the desktop, I would expect to see stacks of
cartons with dual processor pentiums preloaded with BeOS for
sale at Wal-Mart in the range of $200-300. within a year.
Side by side with a Win OS running on the same hardware BeOS
wins hands down. We're talking elegance, simplicity and
multi media that is breathtaking.
BeOS, from what I can see, will run the whole gauntlet from
Win CE to top of the line NT. Same OS. No penalty to either end.
Emphasis right now is middle range Win95/NT stuff. Not bad for
a $69. OS.
