<<Currently the entry level X86 CPU is 233 to 266 MHz (more likely 266 MHz)>>

I agree with your message. A friend recently bought a PC from Gateway. He said that he was discouraged by the salesperson from buying a 233 CPU and should opt for the 266 (Of course that means more money for them, AND INTEL!)

The WC-2's claim-to-fame is high performance, not a rocket engine, at BARGAIN prices. IF IF IF IF IF they can get volumes, they certainly stand a better chance of getting at least a 2rd tier PC mnfgr to use the WC-2. One can only be hope that the IBM access will pay off in under six months with design WINS!

The market for lost cost (>$1000) PC is still the fastest growing segment. Even corporate buyers have to be smiling at 233/266 machines in this price range. How many average workers need a 300/333MHz PC to do word processing or spreadsheets?

Long on IDT, for better or worse(?)
