Charles, Charles, and Charles: I've been following VOCLF since it's IPO and have been an investor since 9/96. Those of us "longtermers" on this board know that Vocaltec often will NOT make announcements until they are pushed into it. In the past Don has used postings here to prod them into making announcements. (They have gone through a lot of PR staff through the years)

I think my posts are very clear as to what is bothering me. Read them again. We are stockholders and management is not doing their fiduciary responsibility to give us a decent return on our investment. They have tried to be the IP Telephony Company that does it all. Well, they do it all, but much of their business/campus/client software is now just OK. In the process they have spread themselves too thin. Also, for a small company they have been slow to change course.

It seems that many of their early initiatives have just been quietly abandoned. Now they have decided to concentrate on the one area with the most competition. They are going up against deep-pocketed well-connected players. Do you really think Vocaltec will get a dominant place in the gateway market? Let's just pretend that Vocaltec has the best product - how much better does it have to be for them to get a dominant position? There are many other factors besides technical merit, which will determine the winner here.

So, I am basically sad that this company has gotten to this point, that they didn't live up to their promise and their long term prospect may not be so great anymore. They are just another struggling IP Telephony Company scratching for a piece of the pie. A far cry from how Vocaltec was viewed a year ago.

Also, if you buy the PR crap you are getting from Vocaltec, well it's your money. Look at the tape....
