Jeff & Greg, I am severely bumming about PIXR's move back down to 15, although I can't say that I was too surprised. Now, I'm too far out to take the loss here, so I will have to hold for the Q4 earnings in January. Those should be good, I believe...the Q3's were surprisingly upbeat, plus we'll have the profits from the Toy Story video sales in the Q4 results. I also spoke with Anna at Pixar, and she said the same thing: PIXR's take is 7-10% of the profits. I'm assuming that a company like DIS would have at least $10 in each video, so that would be a minimum revenue of $21M since there were 21,000,000 videos sold on the preorders alone prior to release. Of course, DIS will reap most of the benefits, but PIXR will at least make some cash on the deal.
BTW, "Bugs" is deal #2 for Pixar/Disney's joint venture. PIXR CANNOT make any movies solo until the 3rd movie w/ DIS is made, per their contract. However, they are free to do other endeavors, such as this new commercial w/ Pepsi solo. They may also do future CD-ROM releases by themselves, keeping the entire profit for Pixar. Hope the info helps us. Anyone else still long, or am I the only one?? Hey -- Buzz or Woody?? Cast your ballot NOW!! Good luck to all of us, Vicki
