Paul:

The California Dept. of Corrections will be putting out a "Request for Proposal" to the private prison sector to bid on 5000 beds. The "RFP" is due to come out on June 15. The following two years another 10000 to 15000 beds will be put out to bid. The Calif. prison system is desperate. The prisons are at 200% plus capacity. WHC, CCA, MCI, CRN and others will be bidding. Great opportunities in Calif. If these RFPs are like the previous ones, each facility will be limited to 500 beds. If so that means there will be 10 new facilities built within the year. WHC is a aggressive company. I think they will get some of the contracts. Keep an eye on the private prison stocks. By the way, you might what to check out YSII. They took a big hit but I think they will rebound back fairly quickly. You might ask Cousin Dan to to a TA on it.
