No question that by using trailing ratios, klac is there now. As you infer, the problem is what sales amounts we are multiplying by. Sales are declining, so 1.6x a much smaller sales amount, will get a much smaller stock price.
I have amat's book at 6.58, at the point of the last trough. The stock hit a multiple of 1.656 book. The same multiple now is 5.1 billion or about 14 per share. So, still a way to go, if we hit those levels. There are no guarantees of a firesale this time though.
