Riparius Ventures and Delta Three Announce Alliance and Milestone in Use of PC-to-Phone Telephony

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 1998--Making Internet phone calls from a PC just got easier. Up until now, users could only make such calls through their PC by speaking into a microphone and listening through speakers attached to their computer. However, through an agreement announced today between Delta Three, Inc., a subsidiary of RSL Communications, Ltd. (NASDAQ: RSLCF) and Riparius Ventures, Inc., users can now make the same call through their PC by using a traditional telephone handset.

The innovative Riparius INT100CS Internet telephone handset allows this to happen. As shown in the accompanying photograph, by attaching the Riparius handset to a PC and using Delta Three's PC-to-Phone software (available for free download at www.deltathree.com), users now have the ability to call anyone, anywhere in the world at rates significantly less than traditional phone calls. The INT100CS handset substantially improves the sound quality and privacy of Internet telephony communication by making it as simple as using a standard telephone handset.

Beginning this month, Delta Three and Riparius Ventures will co-market Delta Three's PC-to-Phone software and Riparius' INT100CS handsets to Internet service providers, retail outlets, on-line communities and college bookstores.

David McElvaney, President of Riparius Ventures, and Elie Wurtman, Chief Executive Officer of Delta Three, in a joint statement, said, "The utilization of the Riparius handset together with the international Internet telephony network of Delta Three is a milestone in the development of PC-to-Phone telephony. Rather than speaking aloud into a microphone, users of PC-to-Phone telephony now can have the comfort and quality of a traditional telephone call. However, by using Delta Three's global network, they can reduce their phone bills by as much as 80 percent."

Delta Three generates millions of minutes of voice traffic each month by providing Phone-to-Phone offerings such as calling cards, PC-to-Phone software and other enhanced services to a growing number of customers around the world. With 22 points of presence, Delta Three manages the world's largest Internet Telephony network dedicated to voice and fax traffic. Parent company RSL Communications fills the gaps where the Delta Three Global network does not yet reach, with its traditional current switched telephone network and termination services to over 250 countries.

Riparius Ventures, Inc. has sold over 40,000 handsets since January through a distribution agreement with Conair Electronics and is manufacturing a custom version of the INT100CS for inclusion in WebSurfer's Intel based set-top box. The handset is currently available from Riparius Ventures at 800-394-8812 or www2.riparius.com. -0-
