Terayon - a small private company - in which Cisco has a stake has developed CDMA for wire. As best I can tell, no connection or fees to the Q. How Terayon manages to avoid the Q 's patents is not clear to me, but seemingly that is the case. Interestingly, though Terayon's CDMA transmission technology is the superior one, the company was forced to accept and use a less powerful system for its "mainstream" products by a "standards system" used by the other companies in its field. Wish it were public since think the future bright for Terayon. As of now, think Cisco is only practical way to participate in CDMA over wire - unless the Q has a way, now or in the future. Comments?
