It's FC all the way per Brocade Solutioneer

<<Various industry perceptions persist that current technologies can act as alternatives to a Fibre Channel-based SAN. However, this is not true. Gigabit Ethernet does not have direct storage interfaces; nor can it guarantee in-order delivery of frames at a network protocol level, which SANs require. OC-12 asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) has no direct storage interfaces. It also has a higher overhead-5 bytes out of every 53-byte frame, vs. Fibre Channel's 36 bytes out of every 2,112 bytes of payload-that is not at all suited to the large file transfers required in a SAN. Current Ultra SCSI-2 environments do not have the performance or the fault resilience necessary to provide the functional characteristics of a SAN. >>
