Don't you mean they test it from DF-144 *made* from ethanol? I would doubt that a big oil company would test it with a "experimental" fuel. The press releases stated it had been tested with "four different refinery streams." That would definitely mean gasoline. That's the big problem for them, finding an octane enhancer that works with gasoline.

I need to learn a bit more how these things work. But it's my layman's incredibly stupid analysis that the additive somehow changes gasoline's oxygen saturation? so that combustion produces a bigger bang for the buck. I was wondering if DF-144 might not work with ethanol since that would be an entirely different catalytic reaction.
