Chris, as a friend of TM, I appreciate your post. TM is by nature a trader. However, he will occasionally find stocks that he likes for the long term and hold them. DIXS is such a stock.

However, while supporting those stocks for the longer term, he will often trade, taking advantage of dips and gaps. Selling the gaps with part of his position and buying the dips. He constantly advises other investors to do the same with long term holdings--always take a portion of your orginial investement of the table and let your free shares ride.

A lot of people want him to follow the Rocketeer model and just buy and hold and sell absolutely nothing until the stock is a 10-50 bagger. It is probably not going to happen. On the other hand he is by far the most bookmarked poster on SI and a lot of people follow his buying and his picks. Furthermore, when he says he is supporting a stock for the longer term, he keeps his word, unless the fundamentals change.

Given that, I would hope that there is room on the DIXS thread for both long term investors and long term supporters who trade part of theikr position. I agree that both groups are on the same side. If they continue to fight with and bash each other, both are likely to lose. IMHO.
