Diamond...if you've kept up with the thread, you should have a pretty good idea what is going on. Check out Janybird's research page, and pull up Skip's posts. The price drop may not be comforting, but at the moment CCSI is a "manipulated" stock, and as such, it would be incorrect, in MY opinion, to reflect that concern on the company. Quite to the contrary: (1) CCSI is a real company with a real product and real patents; (2) there are anywhere from 3.1 to 4m short shares that have to be covered and we have about 14m shares outstanding with a "hard" float of about 2.3 to 2.5m; and (3) I believe substantial news re partner relationships, could come at any time. Additionally, mention has already been made here of the CEO's trip to China and you can read that and speculate for yourself.
The shorts have taken advantage of the fact that CCSI has been operating under stringent confidentiality requirements, and they've used that opportunity to create speculations and doubt. That situation is about to change IMHO.
I believe that CCSI and Lehman are well aware of what is transpiring with the short activity, and that they have taken, are taking, and will take, appropriate measures.
I have alot of respect for the CEO for where she brought the company, and I am confident that she will successfully conclude this stage, along with the additional management personnel I understand they are in the process of hiring.
As I've stated on other posts, I have no personal problem with anyone shorting a stock based on their perception of fundamentals and news. However, when shorts in an organized fashion resort to spreading falsehoods, making anonymous calls with defamatory and untrue information, and manipulate the price during the trading day, it should be a wakeup call to you not to relate a stock's trading pattern with the company's operation and performance, nor the character or integrity of those acting as officers, directors, major shareholders, or employees. |
