James,I myself,(my opinion only) am very hesitant to believe that the
semis are going to have a sustained rally--I guess I am heavily influenced by the Hedge Fund fellow Fleckenstein--he for instance shorted Intel at 85 and says he sees them eventually hitting 40--
he paints a bleak longterm picture, for PCs and companies dependent on PCs---curiously though another analyst also bleak about Techs in general was asked what Techs does he recommend to buy,and he named
CPQ,IBM,and CA,and ALL for the same reason--because he says they are extremely involved in the Y2K business, which he sees as explosive at some point---what surprised me I had no idea that Compaq is deeply
involved in Y2K,and given its price I am considering it,but I need to research this y2k side of ComPaq.max--This is Hot Air Only post.
