Here are some tips:

1. Do not trade options until you know what you are doing. It may be like taking your money in used $20 bills and spreading it on a freeway. It will go down faster than you know, and there is no way to recover it. Unlike stocks, your investment will actually go to "Zero" in a short time.

2. Read books: Recommend Larry McMillan's "Options As A Strategic Investment" and "McMillan on Options" before you start trading. Dr. Alex Elders "Trading for a Living" is also recommended.

3. Do not play with all your capital in options. Not more than 5-10% of available cash should be in options.

4. Do not get sucked in the game by promises of high profits. Just a way for someone to make a lot of money off you. Unless you know the underlying equities well enough, do not play options on them.

5. Visit www.cboe.com for info on options.

These are just to name a few.
