Interesting,
My brother just joined a new start-up DRAM fab in Taiwan founded by a petrochemical co. He told me most of the fabs planned last year are in progress. It seems like Taiwanese co. focused more on entering the market instead of profitability. And you know how they cut the price when they really want the market. There is a hope for DRAM (from brother) is HDTV. HDTV standard suggests 128M memory but I am not sure it will get popular soon.
