Hi Peter,

If you do not know it already, check out this charting site: - bigcharts.com -.

There you will find delayed charting with a variety of indicators, including OBV, for varying time frames. The smallest being intraday, 5-minute interval charts. The site is free and includes explanations of all the indicators by clicking on a link at the bottom left of each chart frame.

Also, you may want to check out the book "Technical Analysis Explained" by Martin Pring. IMHO if you are interested enough to be seeking out the wisdom of the obviously very knowledgable and extremely generous Mr. Tang, then you might consider doing him the service of reading this book to get to grips with some of the basics. Anyone who is at the stage of initially reading Pring would be very lucky indeed to have someone like Mr. Tang to bounce questions off of.

I shall be doing so myself.

You won't regret it! All the best to you.

Cheers,
Bond

P.S. Mr. Tang's suggestion of attempting to figure out the OBV by yourself is an extremely challenging (seemingly impossible) exercise, as you say. It could drive you nuts!! All the better to lead to original thinking, IMHO.
