To me, the backup service offered by this company is screwy. If I am reading their web site right (which I'm not sure of, since it isn't clear) they send a person to your home or office with an Orb drive. You pay their cost for the number of disk cartridges required to back up your data. If you need to restore data, they will send a person back to your home or office the next day.

And they do all this to spare you the expense of buying your own Orb drive? You save 200 bucks, American.

So what does the service cost? I just looked it up on their web site.

"Example - 2 Gigabyte Hard Drive to Backup One 2.16 Gig Disk @ $46.99 each - $ 46.99
Two Gigs Backup @ $ 20.00 each - $ 40.00
All Taxes Included
Total - $ 86.99
for subsequent backups of disk - $ 15.00"

How does this company actually plan to make money?

I don't know. The fact that some Canadian has put up a web page describing what sounds like an economically infeasible business which will purportedly use Orb doesn't prove to me that Orb is "being used in the real world." Does this alleged business have any customers? Do they have any Orb drives or cartridges? Do they even exist?

Meanwhile, I agree with you that it's odd that Castlewood's site still talks about ship dates in the first quarter AND other ship dates in May.
