Your sense of idealism should be commended. We really need more like you in all walks of life.
However, with that said Solon, not everyone has the heart that you do. Many are here for purposes that are exclusively self serving, and at the expense of the good people of the thread like yourself. Some of us will never recognize who they are, regardless of our background or "street smarts." Some of us will recognize only some and some will recognize more. That is one of the differences God built into us.
I would suggest the "collective" wisdom about spotting these creeps, although fallible, is pretty good, its accuracy almost scary. It is with that thought that I will say, "let the thread make these decisions independent of criticism." It will sort itself out. I for one would not want to discourage this type of conflict, although I believe some of it should be held privately.
Fortunately, as in the case of ft and gang, they stand out like the proverbial fart in the elevator.
