***(...) Known as seasoned back-room deal-makers, the new Lewinski lawyers, both showing some silver in their hair, have already been in touch with the independent counsel's office to explore a possible deal to head off an indictment.

In an interview with a Greek television station, Cacheris said he wanted to get immunity from the independent counsel for Lewinski's testimony, according to a report from CNN. "We want to very much resolve the threat that has been placed against Monica Lewinski to keep her out of trouble," he was quoted as saying.

Cacheris said while immunity meant Lewinski would probably have to testify against Clinton, he said the consequences of that was "not in our hands." Cacheris also said Lewinski and her legal team "are not out to do Clinton in." (...) ***
