Another 360 turn when confronted with your own statements. You were very unambiguous, when you stated that the registration of the mineral rights to NGS was a crime committed by the SA authorities. Why deny your seemingly in-built prejudices?

You say that ' either the state approves the crime, or it restores the rightful possession of the mineral rights'. I gather then that any decision not in favour of SUF or yourself would be viewed as a crime. You and SUF have smeared the integrity and the independence of the SA Government, a strategy that will most certainly be to your disadvantage.

If you had taken the time to read your local papers, you would have seen that De Beers has invested a considerable amount of money in Canadian mining companies, also translating to the direct employment of Canadians. De Beers has numerous business partnerships with Canadian companies who have no problem in doing business with them: but you would rather have them out. So Canadian companies welcome De Beers expertise and investment but not yourself. How do you figure this out? Do you have any idea as to the amount of foreign investment received used for the acquisition of De Beers shares? Why would Canadians invest in De Beers if they shared the same opinions as you do? The simple reason is that they do not.

If you have a problem with the large companies, then vent your anger at Microsoft or one of the other biggies. De Beers is South African and will mine the M1, and you may then write to the relevant Minister and accuse him of acting in a criminal fashion.

What really galls me (excuse the pun ) is your self-righteous attitude. You should restrict your efforts first as to how the indigenous people are treated in Canada or any other for that matter. I have previously posted that one should not be so casual when accusing other countries of their past ills, it leaves one in unfamiliar territory. I read in the Sunday Independent today that the Government of Alberta would compensate 500 mentally handicapped people who had been sterilized without their knowledge, between 1928 and 1972. Was this not done somewhere else, somewhere in Europe, between the years 1937 and 1945? The compensation being in the order of R160 million. It would of course be stupid to judge Canadians on this, just as it would be stupid to judge all South African in the same way. Remember this.

The next few weeks will be critical for SUF, their only hope IMHO is that they agree to some form of joint venture with De Beers. This however may be too late considering how they have bad mouthed De Beers and the heirs.
