Scrapps, cable modems as the "best" solution for most people, yes.
As said, Y2K and beyond. I look for internet video as the spark to
ignite faster communication demand. Cable Modem sales should start
to slack off when "half the block" is on cable and the speed starts
to decrease. An unknown is what the affect of Internet2 will be on
businesses and consumers.

Moonray, I see your sticking with cable modems...going to be hard
with these other choices which cover all aspects...like dial-up as
Derek mentioned....


These modem wars are a lot like Derek's Jazz vs Dick Smith's Bulls.
There are many battles along the way and we probably won't know
until the end of the series who has had the "best" gear. While one
can clearly see that these are two of the best clubs in the NBA, one
can not discount the aspect that a better club like the Miami Heat
with new gear may come along in the subsequent year and knock the
heck out of 'um.<g>
