InfoSPINman:

Since you are unaware of context, or choose only to mislead from postings from a few days ago, here is the quote as I wrote it.

"Dr. Maduna's handling of the expropriation will tell us which of the above happened: either the state "approves" the crime, or it restores the rightful possession of the mineral rights to SUF/Randgold. Either justice prevails, or foreign mining interests look to South Africa like Indonesia (government abetted theft)."

This speaks not of the integrity of the government of the RSA and of the DME, but of corrective action needed to redress a misdeed. No one has "smeared the integrity and the independence of the SA Government", but rather questioned the integrity of one decision (the registration of Marsfontein mineral rights). All people, and their governments will make mistakes from time to time. "To err is human" comes to mind. Redressing past errors is the DUTY of responsible governments in Canada and RSA. That is all.

This is not about indigenous peoples or that sort of thing, although, when speaking of De Beers and their various "ventures" in Southern Africa, it seems that the company may have acted like it was a "state" in the heavy-handed manner that it has for decades conducted its business.

Nice attempt to obfuscate and draw attention from the real issues by talking of government actions in the 1930s and then having the complete lack of sensibility to compare this World War II Europe. Thankfully, you didn't manage to offend any other races/peoples.

What is this of judging South Africans? With the EXCEPTION of yourself and Gall, every South African that I have met or dealt with, from university days, to mining companies, to friends and colleagues and to the representatives of the Government of South Africa with whom I've recently been acquainted have all been very personable, friendly, knowledgeable and fair. In fact, about the only thing that seems a tangible difference between the South Africans I've met and Canadians, Americans, Italians, Germans, whatever has been a deep-seated disgust for the South African regimes pre-Mr. Mandela.

To the contrary, the many reforms and changes that have happened so quickly in RSA since Mr. Mandela has come to power has enlightened most of the world to correct past injustices, and change society to reflect the equality of all people. Unfortunately this cannot occur overnight, but the message of recent South Africa is clearly one of change for the benefit of the many. If you'd seen some of the letters and comments forwarded to various parts of the government of RSA by shareholders of SUF, you would likely be surprised by the unanimity of support for present government, and especially the almost reverential place that Mr. Mandela holds in our minds.

How come you have chosen not to respond to my (and others') questions?
For example:
1) Who is your employer?
2) Have the "heirs" been compensated yet? If not, why not?
3) Why did De Beers pass over Marsfontein and Klipsringer years ago?
4) Why are you still present on this thread?
5) New: Why all the attention and SPIN to make it seem like SUF is anti-government in RSA?
6) Why did the "heirs" drop the interdict against Dr. Maduna simultaneously with SUF dropping their legal action against the "heirs"?
7) Why did you intentionaly mislead this thread into believing that you were an "heir"?

Please repond to the questions, unless you can't or won't answer them.
We'll know by your response.
