Dave,

DSL is always on so you never have to dial up. Your right, a local ISP will support your internet connection. The thing to keep in mind is that once you implement your DSL connection to your ISP you are locked into that connection (unless you change providers) and cannot use your DSL modem to dial up other services. You could use your 3Com 56k modem on the analog side of your DSL service to do faxing and stuff like that.

I hope they're at PC Expo in a couple of weeks so I can ask again.

Let us know what happens with that. Good luck! You'll need it dealing with an RBOC.
