[baseball trivia] hi 9r, in the baseball trivia sc/yhoo rumors department, just ran across an anecdote about dummy taylor a pitcher for the new york giants around the turn of the century... he was deaf and mute and because of him most of his team could use sign language.. and with it his coach used to put the s-t-e-a-l sign on ... of course it was as plain as day to anyone who could read it... dummy was once thrown out of a game by an umpire who also read signing for "cursing" with his hands.... am passing this story along as the O's may be picking up another player by those same initials maybe as early as this fri...tho can't vouch for the rumor, if true, could be a major leaguer who should only improve prospects ...;) .. s
