Steve -- Do you know which Cable Modem is the one your friend has, that has been used so successfully in your area --Hamilton Ontario? I think you are right that most cable companies are not capable of carrying digital signals because their system is not set for that purpose. However, the transmission and retransmission mechanism of the cable modem could also play an important role in solving the problems. Are 3COM cable modems used in your area? Martin
