james, the strength of the rally we got on trs and fri caught me by surprise. in joking with my wife i issued a challenge to all of those bulls out there. since the indexes were sitting on the edge of a cliff it was now or never on trs. the bulls answered and we rose big time. i would think a good part of that was short covering, but none of that was me. there are too many things out there fundamentally that say we are going lower. im short 8/10 stocks i hold and feel very comfortable. i ventured over to long side a bit a week or so ago and felt very uncomfortable when it went the wrong way. i believe we had the grass cutting conversation in that time period. for me im cash or short. i will dump one of the longs at first sign of a downturn. as for next week, i think down at open then close positive on mon. tues up at open and neg for the day with follow thru on wed. after that who the heck knows. its fun to guess though. i think we will have new lows across the board in three weeks time. js
