You're missing the essential element of Netscape's strategy. The reason Netscape is so competitive with intranets, is that large companies each employ all those platforms...administrative desktops, art departments, engineering workstations, etc. Netscape offers a common GUI, and "write once, run anywhere" capability for less than $100 a seat.

Lotus and Microsoft haven't figured out how to compete with this yet. Now, with Constellation, employees will be able to roam from computer to computer, and call up their own desktop. Pretty wild.

That's why Netscape's 80% share of intranet business hasn't declined yet. Everybody expects it to eventually. But if Netscape delivers on its ambition to deliver 30-50% of the intranet market, Netscape will be a legendary investment...at these prices.
