Hello, Herm, I basically agreed with you on TJX. Your scenario is quite possible.
I have another question. If company says " The split 2:1 will be paid on July 01 to shareholders of record on June 01". Does it mean that people who bought between June 02 and June 30 will lose 1/2 of their stock value on July 01? And people who had shares as of June 01 and sold them next day will get an extra share for each share held. Sounds kind of strange isn't it? But similar rules applied for dividend payment.
