rudedog - from those articles (and Spencer the KATT is a lame article) it appears that Compaq is desperately looking for HELP from Microsoft and anybody else to help resurrect the moribund ALPHA. Requesting life support and getting it are two different things. Don't forget - when the patient (ALPHA) has been without oxygen (software support) for so long, the chances of permanent brain damage are real good. Paul
