Maybe he's playing NT up to get LU to up the anty. Or maybe it doesn't hurt BAY's share price to let the charade go on as long as possible. If BAY runs up to $35 before it's obvious that no buyout is imminent, then who knows. Maybe BAY will hold up higher than it would've before any of this buyout talk started. My guess is BAY would be lucky to be above $20 right now w/o ANY of the merger talks.
Who knows.

Maybe we'll find something out tommorrow. My cynical side says that this supercomm thing is a publicity stunt to get some P.R. for whatever alliance (not merger) BAY's cooked up. Hope not, but ...
