X, Michael raises one very important point--make sure the doctor you choose has done lots and lots of these procedures, with a very high success rate. This is something I really need to have done, as well, since I am very, very tired of wearing contacts and glasses. However, I have been waiting until the technology was excellent. It sounds as if that time has arrived!
