Taylor Rig first quarter earnings

Mr. Mark Roberts reports
Taylor Rig, LLP, a subsidiary of Westrend, had first quarter earnings ending April 30, 1998 of $457,000. Taylor Rig has sold three additional trailers to GEFCO.

Further to news in Stockwatch June 2, 1998, Taylor management has received a number of inquiries regarding the newly designed portable rig for use in extremely cold environments which is the type that has been sold to the Alaskan purchaser for use on the North Slope. This purchase has been firmed up with a purchase order. There are plans to aggressively market this type of portable winterized rig to operators in both Russia and Canada.

Arising from interest generated with the newly designed rig, Taylor management also reports that another purchasing group from Alaska is arriving at Taylor's offices this Tuesday to consider a similar rig purchase with a value of $2.3-million (U.S.).

Taylor is also bidding for carrier work from two new companies. One of these companies is a cement pump truck manufacturing company in Oklahoma that builds three cement truck units per month and has seen carriers provided by Taylor to GEFCO and is impressed by its quality. The other company is a large water well drilling manufacturing company like GEFCO that builds approximately 150 water well drilling units per year.
