Intel sells competition for CompactFlash which is called Flash Camera Miniature card. Intel is clever in that they are selling an OEM camera kit which provides much of the guts (chips, firmware etc) for building a digital camera. These guts support Intel's product.

A few caveats: the guts do not exclude CompactFlash. Hitachi and a few other Japanese companies also sell similar camera kits and I velieve these kits are more SanDisk friendly. Current Intel camera kit does not support megapixel cameras which is the new generation of cameras which will hit stores in quantity this Christmas. Sandisk is doing quite well with design-ins for these new megapixel cameras.

I believe Sandisk will have an excellent Christmas. Once the cameras are sold, customers will buy more memory.
