Sonki, I am not a currency expert relative to IBM but since IBM does more then 50% of its business outside of the USA a high dollar has to have a negative? impact on year over year earnings. IBM does however manufacturer much outside US so dollar value can play both ways. Don't know how much hedging IBM does but have seen recently that IBM now publicizes earnings in "constant currency" (whatever that is) to blunt currency effects.

Re IBM growth, I saw this note on the Dell thread which mentioned movement of SAP accounts from UNIX to 390. see 6th paragraph. Every time I see someone talking about the "death of the mainframe" or how Merced and NT are going to take over the world you see this type of real world example.
