Elmer:

<<Slot2 does not replace Slot1. The 2 will coexist.>>

1) Is slot2 compatible with slot1?

2) If I buy a MB slot1 today can I use it to run slot2 CPU?

3) Is slot2 superior to slot1?

4) Assuming if slot1 is not compatible with slot2 can I buy AN OVERDRIVE to upgrade my slot1 MB to slot2?

5) If slot2 is superior to slot1 why the hell do I want to by slot1 MB now?

6) Will Intel kill slot1 when slot3 available? Or will slot1, slot2, and slot3 coexist?

7) How about the Merced? What slot will it be? Can I use solt1 to run the Merced?

I have too many questions and I am not sure which slot I should buy. I want a slot that has a long enough life so I don't have to spend a lot of money to upgrade.
