just got off the phone w/ Mark Silestro from NEWZ. He sounded upbeat about the company and its prospects while mostly reiterating the party line. The one substantive item he mentioned that i was unaware of was a new contract w/ Chase Manhattan worth between 1/2 and 1 mil. other questions from me. Who is William Blair (he filed a SEC 144 on 5-18 to unload over 200k shares)? ans. He was one of the original investors in the company. Others. Upselling is going well as is the continued integration of the workforces. He also mentioned a recent BA Robertson Stephens memo reiterating their "BUY" AND THAT THEY WERE FOCUSING ON THE 3RD & 4TH QUARTERS in terms of evaluating NEWZ. He also mentioned they had set a $30.00 price target in 2000 based on a 30 multiple (and i assume $1.00 per share). Mark didn't feel the recent price action in the stock had much to do w/ the company, but more the market for internet stocks in general. rod
