Larry, Hope is always nice, but it has to be tempered with reality. Fujitsu is tripling 64 Mbit production this year. Toshiba is more than doubling. NEC will boost production by 67% over the next 6 months. Samsung, Mitsubishi, NEC, and Hitachi will all offer production quantities of 256 Mbit chips this year. Embedded DRAM is on the way. It will be expensive at first, but in a glut if and when Micron ever discovers how to produce it.

So, the optimism at the shutdown of a few obsolete 16 Mbit lines is about as misplaced as the optimism 18 months ago when the Asians were shutting down obsolete 4 Mbit lines. The net result, huge increases in Mbits produced with very little increase in demand. That is only good for pricing if you are a buyer. MU will continue to bleed cash as long as they have some, which won't be that long. And that doesn't even factor in the huge inventory of DRAM already produced.
Repent, the end is near. <G>
