In a reverse split you receive less shares that you already have: an example would be a 2 for 1 reverse split. If you own 1,000 shares you will then own 500 after the split. I just got a letter in the mail on an old dog I owned. 250 to 1 reverse split! I never have been for reverse splits. Most of them are only done because the company didn't have anything to lift the price of the stock so they do it by decreasing the shares. Goes down most of the time after the split in my experiences.
