>>Book sellers trumpet affiliate programs

Amazon.com (AMZN) and BarnesandNoble.com are enthusiastic about the results of their
programs whereby they pay other Web sites sales commissions when those sites refer book
buyers to the retailers. Late last week, a Barnes and Noble (BKS) executive said 500 Web
sites a day are signing up for its affiliate program which pays as much as seven percent
commission fees. Amazon.com announced Monday it's adding 30,000 affiliates in the last
four months to its program which now totals 60,000 participants.<<
