I think for Divx to truly succeed, it will need to have a privacy feature, perhaps available for a fee similar to the cost of an Open DVD title. For a fee it should be convertible to unlimited play. Here's the kicker: this unlimited play should be accessible *without* the Divx player being hooked up to a phone line or other info port. I don't know if Divx Silver (the current unlimited play upgrade) will allow this. If the phone line is still needed, then all this talk about Divx being an "enhancement" is cynical malarkey. It becomes a whole 'nother format.
If I can't own Star Wars or even [porn title] in some format that allows me to watch it as often as I like without my machine telling someone else about it, I don't like it.
