ImagicTV produces ''telco-ready'' business application software that enables service providers to deliver digital broadcast television to residential customers over existing copper telephone wires or any high- speed Internet Protocol (IP) network. <i This integrated solution takes advantage of IP multicasting, ATM switching, MPEG and xDSL technologies, allowing home access to television and Internet content through a TV set-top box or PC, utilizing an electronic program interface. /i> ImagicTV is a one-product/market company with a very targeted market focus and a global orientation. The senior management team has more than 100 years of combined experience in a variety of disciplines within the telecommunications industry. The president and CEO of ImagicTV is Marcel LeBrun. An integral member in starting the company, Mr. LeBrun was previously involved in business strategy and development as part of NBTel's (The New Brunswick Telephone Company, Limited) VideoActive (TM) network. The ImagicTV product is a complete solution designed to integrate into a telco's existing infrastructure. The ImagicTV solution is the ''killer application'' for broadband services. It makes the business case work because it achieves the complete service package required. Since the system operates on an IP network, telcos will benefit from low-cost provisioning as an unlimited number of channel packages can be added and removed instantly and on-line. The telco's customers will receive all expected Internet capabilities, like Web browsing and e-mail, as well as digital-quality video and sound. A user-friendly program guide will provide helpful information on programming and content. Viewers will be able to use this to record a future program on their VCRs or to block specific programing at their discretion. They will even be able to choose how they want to be billed for their services. ImagicTV Inc. is 51% owned by Bruncor Inc. of Saint John, N.B. The balance of ImagicTV's ownership is held between Celtic House International Corporation and Newbridge Networks. ImagicTV has offices in Saint John and Fredericton (New Brunswick, Canada). It is an affiliate of both NBTel (Bruncor's principal subsidiary) and Newbridge Networks.
