Use both sides of the paper! :-)

No, no fancy cars... still driving my '91 Camry that I bought used. And the 2 free T-shirts I got from SI last year doubled my summertime wardrobe!! :-) Everything's in the IRA, and I'll keep it that way as long as I can.

Sure there's light at the end of the tunnel (and I'll spare you the one liner about it being the headlight of an oncoming train). And working hard is mandatory for success. The problem is finding the right thing to work hard at. I haven't talked to anyone yet who's been successful at this stuff awhile that hasn't finally settled on a relatively simple trading method with strict money management and then stuck to that method.

It doesn't matter what the method is. I'm not a purest by any stretch. Whatever makes $$$ for us is what we need to use. I'd use Arch Crawford's astrology method if I could figure out how the hell he does it! TA all by itself didn't do it for me, probably because I never found the right way to use it all by itself. Yeah, I have a couple ST trades I use for diversion, but riding LT trends or ranges by trading ST/IT corrections & rallies is what seems to be working for me. It's definitely not a get rich quick system, but it is a get rich slow method that limits risk and that's OK with me.

Another AIQ user I know tried what I'm doing and said he couldn't stand it: not enough action, he just didn't like mechanical trading and he couldn't stand being long in the market when it was falling apart. I feel like I have plenty of trades, mechanical trading is exactly what appeals to me and I can't think of a better time to buy than when no one else wants a stock. Completely diverse approaches yet we're both surviving in retirement and we're both happy with AIQ.

So, yeah... there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Just keep it simple (no, I don't mean to use just 1 MA to trade!) and, most importantly, understand yourself and what you need.
