>I don't use version 4 because of the holiday garbage
Peter,
I ordered ver 4 a couple months ago, but as yet haven't gotten around to firing it up. I'm a long-time user of TCPro ver 3 (works fine for me), so I naturally wanted to "upgrade" to ver 4. I've been following your comments, and those of others on this thread, in regards to the "holiday", "cost" and "data export" problems with ver 4. As I use other software programs that depend upon TC2K data, these issues are of great importance to me.
So I called Worden this afternoon to confirm the recent discussions on this thread. Bogus holdiay data: confirmed. Must "export" prior to other programs using data: confirmed [and you have to export just prior to using any session]. Charges for Saturday: confirmed, however, Saturday charges are for fundamental data, and it's optional - - you get charged only if you download the fundamental data.
In my telecon with Worden tech support, I expressed my utter dismay and surprise at bogus holiday data being incorporated into the ver 4 database. [I couldn't believe what I was reading on this thread, so I had to confirm it myself.] But it is all true! Unfu***ng believable! How could such a fine outfit make so stupid a mistake as that? I don't get it.
I asked if others had complained, and the response was, yes - lots of people. I told the tech guy that if they don't get their data fixed, they'll likely lose lots of customers. It was suggested I e-mail or write a formal letter of complaint. I also asked if Worden was monitoring the discussions here at SI, and the tech guy apparently wasn't aware of what SI was. I told them they best get a handle on their product, and assign someone to watch what's being discussed here.
Anyway, my point in all this is to thank you for calling my attention to this unfortunate situation. I'm terribly disappointed in Worden, and I just wanted to say thanks to you and the others on this thread for saving me the trouble that would have happened if I had "upgraded" to ver 4.
