Well, not exactly. While I agree with you that the FTC action is silly, we're not talking about dismantling the patent system. In fact the FTC is accusing Intel of crushing its competitors' patents. Intel is basically shutting off the water on its customers that are asserting patent claims against them. Thus, INTC's market or monopoly power over chips is being used illegally to nullify Intergraph and DEC patents. FWIW, I don't think Intel is too worried about this case because at worst it'll be forced to sign a consent decree saying that it's been a naughty boy and it won't do that again. We're not talking about breaking up intc, here.
