This is my take on David Collins' message to the e-commerce thread regarding Wave:
David is a very conservative 'by the book' person whose nature is neither to panic nor to mislead anyone. I believe there may be several things motivating his message here:

1) He is truely excited now about Wave's prospects whereas he has been responsibly conservative in his past assessments.
2) Wave is on the verge of really making something happen, and maybe a major announcement is ready to go.
3) Despite the strong immediate prospects for Wave, they may have to wait around for NASDAQ's bureaucratic response to relisting. Wave has actually reapplied to NASDAQ according to management, and they have satisfied one of the key criteria for relisting (only one was originally required) - namely an OEM agreement and I believe SMSC qualifies. When I was at E3, management did not have a good feel for when NASDAQ would respond and felt that they might be slow, so if Wave is on the verge of another major announcement then this puts them in a dilemma because NASDAQ would give them much greater exposure, as they deserve. The bottom line here is that maybe there is a legitimate ulterior motive for Wave IR to get the word out through other means before NASDAQ gets around to responding.

Just thinking out loud (could TOL be a new acronym?).
