Dennis, no, no, I'm just bearish on the pc (read: Wintel) industry for the summer, not Apple. I do think Apple was moving with that group for a while but is probably near a bottom here. A serious warning from Gateway, Micron, Compaq, etc. might drop Apple down to $25 for a moment. Meanwhile, MacWorld NYC is getting closer.
If I had a lot of free funds I'd already be picking up more AAPL around here. As it is, I have to be selective so am watching. Didn't even have the cash to make more free money on Novell the past two sessions. Sometimes it seems like that stock moves in a straight line.
Got my MacMall catalog today, which gives half a page to the iMac. The free VPC or 32 megs offer should help the regular G3 line keep moving out the door. This also seems to be the first catalog I can remember that has almost no Mac clones at all.
Anybody see the Macintouch comment today about G3 prices going up as Apple cracks down on the gray market? What does that mean exactly? Prices at non-authorized resellers are coming off their advertised lows as they are no longer able to divert Macs that were bound for SE Asia or Latin America? Can we assume that the list price will stay the same and that an authorized reseller like Club Mac will continue to offer the G3s for a couple hundred bucks off list? A minor issue at best?
